What is Cupboo?

More than a cuddly toy. Less than a robot.

Cupboo is a fluffy AI cuddly companion that responds to touch, stroking and simple voice interaction. Sensors all over its body detect cuddles and prompt it to respond with sweet sounds and subtle movements.

The combination of touch, gentle sounds and subtle movements creates a familiar, soothing interaction that encourages holding and cuddling.

No screens, no apps, no instructions. Just pick it up and hold it – that’s all it takes. That’s precisely why Cupboo feels low-stimulation: it offers comfort and a response, without constantly demanding a lot in return.

Ask a question yourself

Cupboo makes gentle sounds and responds to interaction, but does not speak human language. It is precisely this simple, undemanding nature that makes the experience soothing and accessible to everyone. For people who are sensitive to stimuli, this can be particularly helpful: Cupboo provides a sense of closeness, but generates very few additional stimuli.

No. Cupboo performs small reactions and movements during interaction, but does not drive or walk around on its own. This makes it simple, safe and predictable to use.

For the time being, we’re assuming this is possible, but it’s wise to always introduce them calmly and under supervision. Cupboo isn’t a real animal, so we’ll assess on a case-by-case basis what feels safe and comfortable for both people and animals.

Carefully remove the outer fur lining via the zip and wash it by hand using a mild detergent. Do not put it in the washing machine, do not tumble dry it, and do not leave it to dry in direct sunlight. When closing the zip, make sure no fur gets caught in it.

Yes. In the current version, this is done via voice commands. Once activated by saying “Hi Cupboo”, you can adjust the volume using commands such as “Louder” or “Voice Down”.

Expect a charging time of 4 to 6 hours. After that, the Cupboo will last for around 3 days on a single charge, on average. This may be longer with minimal use, and slightly shorter with intensive use.

There are three models: Standard, Pro and Sleep Aid. For home use, the Cupboo starts from just €260 including VAT. View the models on the homepage. For organisations (demos, pilot schemes or hire), we’ll draw up a bespoke proposal, with prices available on request.

That depends on stock levels, the model and colour chosen, and whether it’s for home use or for a business. If you get in touch, we’ll let you know the current delivery time and discuss straight away which set-up would be most suitable.

The Standard model provides warm companionship and responds to touch and voice. Sleep Aid adds a soothing sleep-inducing field to help you drift off gently. The Pro model also features a palpable heartbeat and deep breathing to help you relax. All three work entirely offline.

It’s very simple – just use a voice command. For best results, place Cupboo close to your pillow, so it can keep you company as you drift off to sleep.

Place your hand flat on Cupboo’s back and you’ll feel his heartbeat. Stroke him gently: his heartbeat and breathing will gradually slow down. By focusing on that calm rhythm, your own breathing will often naturally slow down too.

Yes. It mimics the Earth’s natural rhythm (known as the Schumann resonance), is non-invasive and does not emit any radiation. It is safe for all ages, including children and pets.
